HOSTING LIFE
BRIDGE BETWEEN URBAN AND WILDLIFE
The US and Canada have lost more than 25% of bird population, a total of three billion since 1970, culminating in what scientists are calling a “widespread ecological crisis.” This decline is affecting nearly every group of birds, from songbirds to migratory, a lot of this happenings are due to human invasion to their natural habitats
DESIGN ENHANCES LIFE
ADDITIVE I REGENERATIVE I MANIFEST
Hosting Life is a project developed for the UN Sustainable Development Goals, that focuses on inciting birds to proliferate in our urban environment, in a regenerative and non-intrusive way.
The designs function both as individual entities and/or systems to create communities and sanctuaries.
Hosting Life is a non-human centered design, focused on increasing bird populations by addressing specific nesting spots characteristics such as volume, shape, size, color and availability mainly in the urban area (although not exclusively). The designs proposed function both as individual entities and/or systems to create communities and sanctuaries.
